For 20 years, Mr. Degnan has worked in U.S. commercial real estate as an investor, executive and advisor on more than $1BN in complex acquisitions and dispositions and more than $2.5BN in development projects. Prior to founding The Monomoit Companies LLC in 2024, Brian was a Partner, Managing Director and Member of the Investment Committee at a $1.3BN family office in Pittsburgh, PA, focusing on direct investments in multifamily and student housing assets. He previously served as a Vice President, Associate General Counsel and member of the Operating Committee at a global family office based in Miami, NYC and Tel Aviv where he led teams on complex distressed acquisitions & ground up development projects. Mr. Degnan began his career as a Real Estate attorney at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, an international law firm with over 1,850 lawyers, representing institutional investors, private equity firms and developers in nationwide deals as well as in workouts/special situations during the Great Financial Crisis.Mr. Degnan holds an undergraduate degree from M.I.T. (S.B.) and graduate degrees from Columbia Business School (M.B.A.) and the University of Florida College of Law (J.D., cum laude). He is a LEED AP.
Brian and his wife, Angela, are the co-Founders of Zip With Us, Inc., a 501c3 that has served more than 30,000 pediatric cancer patients in the U.S. since 2018. They live in Pittsburgh, PA with their four children.
